Inaugural Helen Grindrod QC Lecture - 26th February 2025

We are honoured to have Professor Jane Monckton Smith OBE as our guest speaker for this first event in our new lecture series. She will be speaking on the subject: ‘Eight steps to homicide and other stories.' Professor Monckton Smith is Professor of Public Protection at the University of Gloucestershire. Her research is focused on interpersonal violence, and especially how homicide can be prevented. Professor Monckton Smith works with professionals in reviewing homicides and training, as well as with families bereaved through homicide to help them with criminal justice processes. Professor Monckton Smith was awarded the Suzy Lamplugh Trust Taking Stalking Seriously Award in 2016 and the Feminist and Women’s Studies Association Book Prize in 2013.
