À la rencontre des punks de culture musulmane | Tracks | ARTE

While some question the compatibility of Islam with the Republic, others demonstrate its harmonious blend with the punk spirit. Far from turning the other cheek to the Islamophobia of Western countries, these artists mix religious invocations from the Quran with provocative and libertarian rhetoric. Whether practicing or not, they proudly embrace their culture, while the most rebellious among them openly embrace stereotypes, accusations of Islamism, and demonization, turning the violence back on them. These radical approaches spare no one's sensibilities, neither those of Islamophobes who see their worst nightmares embodied in the taqwacore movement, nor those of the purists for whom the decadent pronouncements of the harami punks border on blasphemy. Tracks met with these rebellious artists for whom Islam and punk share an ideal of absolute freedom against all forms of oppression. 🎸 Ikhras:   / ikhrasactivity   🇲🇦 Zoufriya:   / zoufriya   🪬 Zanjeer:   / zanjeerpunk   00:00 - Introduction 01:50 - From taqwacore to harami punk 08:07 - A trashy identity reflecting discrimination 12:13 - The expression of a liberating faith #punk #muslim #arte https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/116040-...
