A new generation of artists is electrifying audiences with the sounds of hardtekk. Born in the free parties of East Germany, this genre is distinguished by its raw and impactful sounds, an expression of a young, rebellious, self-organized scene nostalgic for the GDR. At the same time, gabber, frenchcore, and hardcore were developing in Western Europe. Today, this aggressive and saturated hardtekk has crossed German borders and conquered European audiences. Determined to champion hardtekk culture, DJs, producers, and club owners gather at Ellen Noir. This club in Magdeburg, 150km from Berlin, hosts numerous hardtekk nights. Its manager, Alex, explains that schranz gave birth to hardtekk. A fast-paced and impactful music that resonates in the body: ideal for clearing your head! Philipp, of the duo Gebrüder Brett, has been mixing and producing this sound since the 90s. Fabitekk, meanwhile, is a promising young artist. Tracks follows these three figures who, together, embody the full diversity of the hardtek scene.
