Please join us Monday, May 18th at 10:00 PM EDT Live on Facebook & You tube as we continue our A Bond of Love Interview Series with Her Grace Jagattarini dasi ~ Part II Her Grace was born and grew up in Melbourne Australia. In 1967 she moved to Sydney to pursue a career in acting, where in 1970 she met the first devotees who came to Australia and visited the temple. Mid 1970 she travelled to LA on her way to London to further her acting career. There she again met the devotees and decided to move into the LA temple where she met Srila Prabhupada. Six months later she travelled to Hong Kong where she married His Grace Bhurijana dasa and together they pioneered the first ISKCON temple in HK. Srila Prabhupada visited in Hong Kong twice and they were also able to get his association in the Philippines. They returned to Melbourne in 1974, where they stayed for two years. Thereafter they travelled with Srila Prabhupada to America. In America they served with the gurukula at Gita Nagari (USA) where she made puppet shows and devotional dramas with the children. In 1983 they moved to Vrndavan and for the next eleven years she worked with the gurukula part time as the art teacher. She would also regularly visit various holy places around Vrndavana and take visiting devotees on parikramas. In 1996 they relocated to Perth with their family. The following year she received a very small Krishna Deity, Who inspired the creation of small miniature dioramas. In 2002 they moved to a property with some devotee friends and began making The Sacred India Gallery (which includes those miniature dioramas). It was ten years in the making and has been appreciated by many who visit. In 2021 it was recognized by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Maan Ki Baat address to the Indian nation. Since 2001, she've also been involved in the annual Govardhan retreats led by my HG Grace Bhurijana prabhu and HH Sacinandana Swami, where she've had the fun task of presenting dramatic readings of Krishna’s pastimes. It’s a unique and fulfilling way to share these sacred stories. These days, she's still deeply involved in both the Vrinda Valley project and The Sacred India Gallery in Perth, while she also spend a few months each year in Vrindavan and Govardhan .
