Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in April 1979 - Remastered in 4K UHD!

This digitised super 8 cine film of the Darjeeling Himalayan railway taken in April 1979 was originally uploaded 7 years ago. It has now been remastered in 4K UHD with stabilisation and colour/exposure correction. The film covers the steeply graded section of the line from Darjeeling to Ghum via the famous Batasia Loop. Sound recorded on a syncronised cassette tape. In those day days the railway was very much part of the community unlike the tourist attraction it has now become. The Gorkha Memorial and gardens are yet to be built at Batasia. Locomotives 791,797, 801 and 803 are seen in action.
