No Beach Parking Needed! Walking to Moody Beach from Thousand Trails

When you can walk from your campground to the beach, that is an automatic RV life win. In this episode, we’re staying at Thousand Trails Moody Beach RV Campground in Wells, Maine, and walking from the campground to Moody Beach instead of dealing with beach parking. The walk takes us through that classic southern Maine coast vibe — past Brown’s Clam Shanty, roadside shops, beach-town restaurants, coastal marsh areas, big beach houses, and finally… sand. Moody Beach gave us exactly what we expected from a Maine beach day: wind, waves, shells, cold air, kids digging holes, parents pretending they are relaxed, sand everywhere, ice cream, and a beach day that felt peaceful and chaotic at the same time. We explore the shoreline between Wells and Ogunquit, talk a little about Moody Beach access, find shells, spot a large fishing lure, clean up fishing line, learn about green crabs, dodge waves, build in the sand, and finish with ice cream before walking back toward the campground. This is the kind of full-time RV travel day we love most. Not overplanned. Not fancy. Just a walk from the camper to the ocean… and whatever happens along the way.
