Saving All My Love For You, Sweet Tenor (PSR-8000), played on Genos 2, the history of technology
A journey through the history of Yamaha sound generation technologies. The Sweet! Tenor sound of the PSR-8000 was distinguished by the fact that the saxophonist's natural vibrato was captured during the sampling session and looped. This resulted in a vibrato that wasn't mechanically controlled by an LFO, but sounded extremely authentic. The only drawback: the sound always had vibrato. Therefore, for every Sweet! sound, there's also a shorter looped version with LFO-controlled vibrato. This sound, like all other Sweet! sounds, can still be found in current Yamaha models in the Legacy category. In the second part, I'll switch to the current SuperArticulation!2 sound.
