Graffiti : Darco, celui qui a été condamné à faire ce pour quoi il a été condamné | INA HIP-HOP

As part of its "ORIGinaL" format, INA HIP-HOP welcomes artist Darco, a pioneer of graffiti in France, and in Paris in particular. He recounts his journey and memories, especially those of the La Chapelle graffiti site. He also revisits the unusual case that brought him to prominence. Darco is featured in "ORIGinaL," INA HIP-HOP's new format. The artist is well-known in the channel's archives, having appeared in several reports since the mid-1980s. The reason? Not his painting itself, but his legal troubles stemming from said paintings. Indeed, the young man, born in Germany, was arrested following a denunciation. The SNCF (French National Railway Company) accused him, among other things, of painting on a transformer along a railway line in the Paris suburbs. The sentence was severe. However, it was reduced to community service after several appeals. Darco was ultimately sentenced to paint for the SNCF (French National Railway Company). He himself acknowledges this: "Being sentenced to do what I was sentenced for is quite unusual." This misadventure brought him fame and launched a more formal career. Today, Darco still paints, and his journey has made him a leading figure in the French graffiti scene. And not just because he painted in the La Chapelle area, where one of the stories of French hip-hop began. ** Information about comments ** On YouTube channels, you are free to express your opinion, even if it is critical.
