EN-Buddhism is to cultivate oneself-Dharma Talk by Seon Master Daehaeng
Hanmaum Seon Center - Korean Buddhist Temple in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina - www.hanmaumbsas.org Glossary Gwan (c.) Introspection. It refers to observation, and in Maum practice refers to trusting and having faith in Juingong, which is the true essence of all being. In other words, practicing gwan is having an unshakable faith that only Juingong can solve all life's conflicts, and that it is necessary to trust it and observe what happens next to solve the problems of reality. Hanmaum (c.) "Han" means "one", "great", "combined" and "maum", although there is no exact equivalent in English, it includes the ideas of "thought" and "heart", among others. In this way, "Hanmaum" refers to the universal consciousness that we all share, the state in which we are all interconnected through the same essence, as well as this idea of functioning together as a whole. Juingong (c.) Consists of two words: "Juin" means owner and "gong" means Empty. In this case, Juingong does not refer to the Void, but to aspects of the "true self that are not fixed" and that manifests themselves at every moment. For example: a man is a son to his parents, a husband to his wife, a father to his children, a friend to his friends. Similarly, there are many aspects of the "I" that correspond to the same person, who adapts his thoughts, words, and attitudes automatically, adjusting them with each person he meets. Since it is not possible to define as true any one aspect of a single moment, Juingong is the word that defines the essence itself with these afore-mentioned characteristics, as the true maker of everything. Inherent nature, Buddha nature, Self, essence and owner are other synonyms. Maum (c.) A word of Korean origin that does not have an exact equivalent in English. Maum does not refer to a mental faculty or to knowledge. Maum is the origin of everything, it has no substance, it is not visible and it has no beginning or end since it transcends time and space. In Korea, if someone is asked where their maum is, they point to their chest. Therefore, in the Heart
