If there's one thing that gets asked more than any other question, it's "How did you do the base?" People get quite angry about it! If I include the basing stages in most videos it takes another half hour of filming and almost the same again in upload and processing time, so I skip it, for the most part; there are other videos in which you see the basing stages (usually for the really gross, slimy stuff!) but still, it's worth having a point of reference for the methods listed in the bottom of these descriptions.
