On our way to Bonaire, a $6,000 sail was torn. But the voyage continued, and we arrived in Aruba via Bonaire and Curaçao. Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, known as the ABC Islands, are Dutch Caribbean islands, and are a popular destination for sailors. From Bonaire's pristine waters and diving spots, to Curaçao's colorful port towns, and Aruba's resort beaches—each island had its own unique charm. In Aruba, in particular, I met a special person. He was a Korean boat owner who had purchased a used yacht there and was currently repairing it himself. We heard why he bought his boat in Aruba, what process he went through to repair it, and what stories he told.
