Rain, road closures, and wind didn’t stop the Tranquilo Bay team from making Global Big Day 2025 one to remember. With 18 checklists and 183 bird species recorded, our team showed up for nature—and for the community. In the weeks leading up to the big day, we trained over 200 of the 400 new eBird users who joined this year, both online and in person. We partnered with MiAmbiente to strengthen Panama’s citizen science efforts and welcomed university students studying biology alongside us. Even the UK Ambassador to Panama, James Dauris, and his wife Helen joined the count.
