Youth Month I Joburg Theatre presents Sarafina! from May 30 to June 15

Set in Soweto during the historic 1976 student uprising, Sarafina is a vibrant, emotionally charged retelling of youth resistance against apartheid oppression. Through its electrifying performances, stirring music, and deeply human storytelling, the show celebrates the courage of South Africa's youth and honours the unsung heroines who shaped the nation's journey to freedom. As we celebrate Africa day, we saw it fitting to invite the cast and crew of one of Africa's iconic stage productions that will be showing at Joburg Theatre from May 30 to June 15. Joining us to tell us more is African Ngema, the Production manager for the show and son of the Sarafina Creator Mbongeni Ngema, as well as Noxolo Dlamini, who plays the lead role of Sarafina.
