Michelle Heath (41), was delighted with the £4,000 surgery she found abroad to remove excess skin following her impressive 10 stone weight loss. But her treatment in Turkey became a nightmare, returning to Belfast with open wounds, serious infections, and says surgeons performed liposuction, and gave her a Brazilian bum lift without permission. Michelle needed further surgeries and skin grafts to correct the botched procedures. But the consequences could have been worse, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office say they are aware of 22 British nationals who have died in Turkey since January 2019 following medical tourism visits.
