Louisiana Hopedale MRGO rocks, jerk baiting & top dogs our way along rocks a learning trip for sure🎣

Team Jo-Jo — Louisiana Fishing at Its Best Team Jo-Jo: Big Rudy & Oneofthepack was scheduled to make a trip to Long Rocks out of Hopedale today, but after thinking about it for a while, Big Rudy canceled out because he was leaving Thursday and had a few things that needed tending to before the trip. Looks like the Fish God was looking out for me. She sent another fisherperson to join the mission. Got a text from Big Ronnie saying, “Long Rocks tomorrow” aboard his new Tracker boat, the “Gloria Marie II.” Just like that, I still get to make my annual one-time trip to Long Rocks today (Wednesday) and also get to make my maiden voyage aboard the Gloria Marie II too. Team Jo-Jo luck may have changed direction, but the mission is still on. Time to chase some Silverwonders, enjoy the ride, and see what Long Rocks have waiting for us. The Seven Fundamentals of Catching: 1. Wind at Your Back: ( Perfect it be, helped move us along rocks, and drift with popping corks) 2. Moving Water: (Hard to tell this it was rising, hard to see current lines too much open water) 3. Water Clarity: ( A 5 plus, looked like river water was impacting this area too) 4. Holding Fish: (Kenny’s Seafood) 5. Patience: (We lost ours around 10:10 time to come in not going to happen) 6. Skill: (Top water, Jerk baits, tight line, popping corks) 7. Luck: (Did not get wet) TECHNIQUES / PRESENTATIONS USED: • Top water, jerk baits, tight line, popping corks, Drop shots. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: Oneofthepack struggled, not my action 2 hardheads, Big Ronnie was all over them, he be fisherperson of the day for sure, if you want a second opinion check with the Dolphins they witness the whole journey. SUGGESTIONS / COMMENTS: • Don’t have enough knowledge to offer a comment on this area, all I have to say is think about going with a guide. • My take / theory “ I would rather fish a spot I know, and not catch fish, then fish a spot I don’t know and not catch fish.”  Any other fisherperson feels this way too??????? TEAM JO-JO’S FUTURE STRATAGEM: As I sit here typing my report, nothing plan, but have a feeling a call to Big Don is in my near future to see if he willing to challenge Mother Nature tomorrow stay tune. Family of the pack on vacation, me alone and need to “make fish while the crew away” going somewhere tomorrow!
