Lake Pontchartrain Lake P Troll action along trestles 🎣

Team Jo-Jo — Louisiana Fishing at Its Best After being off the water for five days or more, Oneofthepack begins to experience what can only be described as serious neurological symptoms. By Day 6, the condition had definitely set in, and after 10 straight days of being landlocked, cognitive memory was noticeably impacted. Simple tasks such as preparing for a fishing trip aboard Bay Flat Jr. suddenly required careful thought and occasional supervision. Fortunately, Big Rudy was aboard to help keep Oneofthepack pointed in the right direction as Team Jo-Jo launched a recovery mission to the Lake P trestles. The objective was simple: search for Silverwonders and any other aquatic creatures willing to dance with Team Jo-Jo’s famous Lake P Troll Rig. With favorable conditions and a much-needed return to the water, the therapy session officially began. As every experienced fisherman knows, there is no known cure for prolonged landlock except a healthy dose of boat time, good company, and a few bent rods. Whether the target was Silverwonders or surprise visitors from below, Team Jo-Jo was once again back where it belongs—on the water. ONEOFTHEPACK’S REPERTOIRE OF TECHNIQUES / STRATEGIES • Troll along trestles, dance with Silverwonders, and make it happen. The Seven Fundamentals of Catching: 1. Wind at Your Back: ( It was rough 2 -3 waveys had water come in boat had to pump out water with bilge pump.) 2. Moving Water: (Slack at first the started to come in, but not that much current’) 3. Water Clarity: ( 4 minus, not looking good at all, very dirty & sandy, lost lure 4-6” below surface) 4. Holding Fish: (FB before, and FB after mile markers 174. We just kept trolling around that area.) 5. Patience: (Lines in water 05:55, first Silverwonder 06:47, after that action was steady for us, no patience needed today.) 6. Skill: (Lake P Troll) 7. Luck: (Able to get out (wind) and catch a few with dirty water & high winds( TECHNIQUES / PRESENTATIONS USED: • Team Jo-Jo Lake P Troll, made possible with Bay Flat Jr. LURE DU JOUR: • Matrix Shad Lemon Drop, matched up with 3/4 oz. round lead head w/ 2 trailers, ……Caught all fish. AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS FISHED: • FB-2 to FB-5, south of north draw bridge out to one FB pass mile marker 174, all fish caught along that area. OUR REWARDS: • Live to fish another day • (18) Silverwonders, 15 Miniwonders • (1) Whitewonders • (1) Flounder • (1) Catfish • (1) Rock • Being on the water with one of the best fisherpersons I know, that is Big Rudy! • Quick & early trip stopped Fishing around 9:20 got to rough. • Lessons Learned:  Water dirty  A lot more win than predicted.  The amount of line you let out was the key to getting into the strike zone. Too little line and you got nothing. Too much line and you were dragging bottom, collecting trash, and hanging up on everything in sight. The magic strike zone was right between "not enough" and "picking up trash."  Big Rudy and Oneofthepack leaned toward the "picking up trash" side of the equation. It wasn't always pretty, but that's where the Silverwonders seemed to be hanging out. Sometimes success comes with a little underwater clean-up duty, and Team Jo-Jo was more than willing to provide the service.  Bilge pump still works, we took a few waves over the bow, not good this be. • Best fishing trip of my life… until the next one. FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY: Big Rudy jumped out 3 to nothing, but Oneofthepack made a comeback, and I think got the honors today.
