WE GOT SPOOKED IN A HAUNTED GAOL 😳 | BURRA SA ADVENTURE

EPISODE 76 Welcome to Burra, South Australia — a town packed with history, heritage, and a few lingering spirits. 👻 In this episode we explore the lovely township of Burra and from there it’s off to the famous “Midnight Oil House” - the abandoned farmhouse made iconic by the Diesel and Dust album cover. We then step inside Redruth Gaol — built in 1856 and now part of the Burra Heritage Passport trail. We walk through the old gaol, share a bit of the history, tell a few stories about the resident ghosts and see if we can pick up anything creepy. After that we check out more Burra heritage locations, then head underground into the Unicorn Brewery Cellars, where we explore the labyrinth of tunnels. We also visit the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Hampton Village, a former mining settlement that’s now a landscape of stone shells and history. Then it’s day-trip time to Farrell Flat Silo Art — and we’re not leaving until we find the hidden elephant which took us ages to spot! To finish: Red Banks Conservation Park — an absolutely spectacular, wide-open outback experience where we had the whole place to ourselves. ...but before we go.... we’ll tell you about our experience when Steve and I went back to the old Redruth Gaol at night, found ourselves completely alone and tried a bit of ghost hunting! We are Steve and Dena with our travelling bird Yummy, living full-time in our caravan, travelling around Australia. We invite you to subscribe to our channel and follow our adventures as we explore this amazing country and unearth some intriguing facts in the many little country towns that we visit along the way.
