I especially like Cruisin’ here—it’s way faster than the studio demo, and honestly, I think I prefer it this way. I honestly think Cruisin’ could’ve been a perfect fit for an Oingo Boingo album later on (it feels like something from Good For Your Soul). This show also features an early version of Nature Zone, Which was played a lot in early Oingo Boingo shows. And, this is the show where Gotta Get Out comes from. I really like that one and honestly wish it had gotten a proper studio demo instead of just a rehearsal we got where Danny mumbles the lyrics. The sound quality drops a lot after Chedrania National Anthem. I tried my best to balance it out, but there wasn’t much I could do to improve it. The first half sounds pretty solid though. I removed as much tape hiss as I could and balanced the audio, especially since it was very heavy on the left side. Hopefully, it’s way more listenable than before. Also, it sounds like this might’ve been the first time they ever played Ain’t This The Life. Danny calls it the “world premiere Oingo Boingo” (around 1:15:54), which is a cool little detail. Hopefully, the video processing didn’t compress the sound too much. Thanks for watching!
