Have you ever thought about the moment of death? Everyone eventually faces their last breath. At that moment, a bank account, a house, honor, the judgment of others, or worldly success cannot take the place of your soul. However, the Catholic faith does not speak only of fear to us. The Church has taught that from the beginning of human life until death, we are under God's protection and the intercession of angels. The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea also explains death, judgment, heaven, and hell from the perspective of God's justice, love, and hope through the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Doctrine of the Last Days. This video offers a deep meditation on what guardian angels do just before death, and why prayer, repentance, and God's mercy are important at the moment of passing. A guardian angel is not a pretty story from childhood or a decoration in a religious painting. They are spiritual companions who help turn your soul toward God within His providence when you are in fear, when you are too exhausted to pray, when you are waiting alone for results in a hospital room, or when you are breaking down every night after saying goodbye to a loved one. *Have you ever thought about the moment of death?* In this video, we calmly share the teachings of the Catholic tradition that guardian angels prepare the soul before God’s mercy in its final moments, protect it from last temptations such as despair, false reassurance, and the resentment of suffering, and accompany it to lead it toward Christ. We also meditate together on how to pray starting today for family members on their sickbeds, children who have drifted away from the faith, and loved ones who have passed away. This video is not intended to make death frightening. Rather, it is a meditation to convey hope: what you must prepare while you are still alive, why you must repent, forgive, and pray today, and that God will not leave you alone even in your final moments.
