The branchline which connected the towns of Buckfastleigh and Totness to the network from the mainline down to Plymouth, was, back I the day, run by the Great Western Railway. British Railways gave up on the line but the locals did not. Nowadays the heritage railway provides a great day out for enthusiasts and families, with the offer of fantastic GWR locos, great views of the River Dart, stations, cafes and the excellent railway museum at Buckfastleigh.
