Ep. 10 - A história da linha férrea Santos-Juquiá parte 1

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Ribeira Valley remained somewhat isolated from the rest of São Paulo state; the economic transformations brought about by coffee had not yet reached the region. Therefore, politicians of the time discussed ways to extend the railway network to the Ribeira Valley. Thus, construction began on the Santos Juquiá railway, completed in 1914. Today, the line is deactivated and abandoned. In this adventure, Rodrigo SelvaMar and I will explore this line and tell its story, which changed the economic and social direction of the region.
