When It's Not Fanservice - Romantic Power Dynamics in Anime

Real quick, thank you to one of my patrons Seth Conley for coming up with the title of this video! Really solid title, methinks, so thank you much for the idea! After watching Call of the Night, I became enamored with the show's ability to tell a story with fanservice elements that are a PART of the story, rather than just some eye candy for the viewer. I have made it clear in past videos that I'm kind of a fanservice prude, but there are some exceptions to that rule, and that's when fanservice is actually important to the story. And it just so happens that there are a lot of shows that are big right now that satisfy this requirement: story-rich fanservice, that actually has something to say about the subject of attraction and sexuality.
