Low Head Light House and foghorn - Tasmania - Australia

Can you spot the Dolphin in this video? An awesome piece of Tassie history on a very windy day! The foghorn is sounded each Sunday at noon, and it is loud. The Low Head Foghorn, at the mouth of the Tamar River, is a unique piece of our maritime history. The Foghorn was installed in 1929 and decommissioned in 1973. It was restored in early 2000 by a group of volunteers. It is the only operational G-type diaphone in the world. Low Head Lighthouse is in Low Head, Tasmania, about 7 kilometres north of George Town on the east side of the mouth of the Tamar River. It was the third lighthouse to be constructed in Australia, and it is also Australia's oldest continuously used pilot station
