On Sunday, 24 May 2026, I lined up for the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon 2026 after last year’s heartbreaking cancellation moments before the start gun in 2025. This year, the race was on — and we took to the streets of Cape Town for one of the most iconic marathons in the world. In this Cape Town Marathon vlog, I take you through my race-day experience: the energy at the start, the grind through the kilometres, and what it feels like chasing a marathon goal in real time. Things were going strong… until the race took a turn at the 38.7 km cutoff. Not the finish I planned for, but the journey continues.
