Another Olive Tray
This olive tray was made by rolling clay in a flat slab and then cutting it in a rectangular shape. Small cuts are made in each corner (about 1/2 inch) to allow room to make a small rim. If that part in the video is unclear, please let me know! Tools needed (besides clay) Rolling pin to roll clay flat Scissors Paper for making pattern Plastic wrap for smoothing edges (optional) Vinegar (or slip) for attaching pieces Round circle shape for marking for foot (optional) Cutting tool Marble or similar shaped ball Boards to place your clay upon In the video at the very end I mention using red clay. This was just white clay with Coral Red Mason stain added but it's not necessary as you can just use red underglaze or glaze for the "pimento" when you glaze your piece.
