Cenepa 1994 : La patrulla Linces encuentra Tiwinza

In this chapter, we'll examine the sequence of events that occurred between August and December 1994, which led to tensions between the Peruvian and Ecuadorian armed forces. The Linces Patrol of the 25th Jungle Infantry Battalion was assigned the extremely important task of finding the border markers lost more than two decades ago in the Condor Mountains. In this testimony, retired Peruvian Army STTE Gustavo Figueroa Cuadros tells us how they discovered infiltrated bases south of the Condor Mountains—that is, in Peruvian territory—created by the Ecuadorian Armed Forces, immediately informing Commander Manuel Lazarte. Among the infiltrated points, we'll see La Cueva de los Tayos, Base Sur, and finally the well-known and controversial point known as Tiwinza.
