This design series of videos are on the design and modeling of 5G/6G Sub-6GHz and mm Wave cell transceiver Front Ends, including mm Wave beam steering. These designs are based on the selection of commercially available parts with chain verification performed using Pathwave SystemVue tools. Part I: I start by introducing the sub-6GHz transceiver design, covering RF frontends, Antenna Arrays, varies transceiver topology designs using off the shelf RF chips. Part II: Here I detail the design of the passive distribution feeding network for the antenna array for both 3.6GHz and 28GHz. Part III: Here I zoom in on a demo design of a 3.6Ghz band 5G transceiver, showing RF system validation using Pathwave SystemVue. Part IV: Here I cover the design of a complete milli-meter (mm) small cell radio transceivers that has beam forming capabilities.
