Social media is playing an increasingly important role in recruitment processes, becoming a fundamental tool for both employers and candidates. They are used not only to advertise job offers but also to build employer branding and actively reach out to passive job seekers. Platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram enable reaching a broad audience, and thanks to targeting tools, they allow for precisely targeting content to specific professional groups. Dr. Dominika Kuźnicka-Błaszkowka accepted my invitation to discuss these issues. From the candidate perspective, social media allows for a more dynamic presentation of experience than a traditional CV. Professional profiles, industry publications, and participation in discussions can enhance credibility and help candidates stand out in the job market. At the same time, candidates have the opportunity to learn more about the company's organizational culture, which facilitates more accurate matching of expectations. For employers, social media has also become a source of information about candidates. Although reviewing publicly available content is common practice, it raises legal and ethical challenges. Employers should exercise caution to avoid acquiring or using data that is irrelevant to the assessment of professional qualifications, especially information belonging to special categories of data. With the development of social media, the importance of transparency and consciously building a personal brand online is growing.
