Abdul Khalim Fadlun (AKF), the caretaker of the Padang Ati Islamic Boarding School in Simbangkulon, Buaran, Pekalongan, Central Java, was arrested after committing indecent acts against a female student, leading to her pregnancy. It was later revealed that AKF had sexually assaulted his female students from 2008 to 2025. A total of 23 to 25 female students are suspected of being victims of abuse, but only six former students have provided statements to investigators at the Pekalongan City Police. Most of the victims experienced the incidents while they were minors, with the youngest being 14 years old at the time of the incident. According to the victim's advocate, Ahmad Fauzi, many of the victims chose to remain silent for years. In addition to feeling ashamed and considering the incident a disgrace, the victim also experienced mental stress because the perpetrator was a respected figure in the community.
