The Forbidden City is the world's largest imperial palace complex. Located in the heart of Beijing, China, this 72-hectare site served as the political center and home to 24 Ming and Qing dynasty emperors for over 500 years. Today, it operates as the Palace Museum and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
