Agentforce makes it easy to build AI service agents that automate customer interactions and in this demo, you’ll see exactly how it works. This video walks through the creation of a service agent designed to deflect support cases and schedule installation appointments. The demo introduces Topics, which define what the agent should and shouldn’t do using natural language instructions instead of rigid dialogue trees. You’ll see how adding an “appointment management” Topic allows the agent to follow context-specific rules, such as validating delivery dates and formatting responses. Next, we cover actions: flows, Apex classes, and prompts that give the agent the ability to retrieve schedules and book appointments directly in Salesforce. These agents can demonstrate advanced reasoning: answering an order status, rescheduling within constraints, and interpreting complex requests. Built-in guardrails ensure safety, including off-topic redirection, toxicity detection, and even protection against prompt injection attacks.
