Albert Camus — ha distrutto il senso della vita? Tutta la verità

Albert Camus, philosopher, writer, playwright, and Nobel Prize winner for Literature, was one of the most profound and misunderstood voices of the twentieth century. In this in-depth documentary, we retrace the entire arc of his life and thought, from his birth in poverty in colonial Algeria to his tragic and absurd death in a car accident, at the height of his intellectual maturity. Through ten chapters, we explore the key stages of an extraordinary existence. We discover the child who grew up in a working-class neighborhood of Algiers, in a home without books, with a father who fell in the First World War and a silent mother who could not read. We follow the boy who, thanks to a teacher capable of recognizing his talent, escapes the fate of poverty. We retrace the illness that at seventeen revealed to him the fragility of life, his encounter with theater and writing, and his philosophical education in the light of Kierkegaard and Nietzsche. At the heart of the story is the evolution of his thought: from the celebrated philosophy of the absurd, condensed in The Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger, to the great season of revolt and human solidarity, expressed in The Plague and The Rebel. We approach the most controversial moments of his life with balance: his involvement in the French Resistance and his editorship of the clandestine newspaper Combat, his painful break with Jean-Paul Sartre, the heartbreaking drama of the Algerian War, and the loneliness of someone who rejected all fanaticism. We conclude with the Nobel Prize, his unfinished work, The First Man, and his unrealized project of a final reflection on love. A serious and passionate journey through the history of ideas, designed for those who love culture, philosophy, and the great biographies of the twentieth century. A respectful and well-documented portrait of a man who asked simple questions and sought honest answers, always defending the dignity of every human being.
