Unloading Two Hay Wagons Into the Barn Haymow
In this Mahner Farms video, my dad and I unload two large throwing racks packed with the remainder of our first crop hay and move it into the hay mow for long-term storage. I had been trying to sell this hay directly off the wagons, but with rain moving in and the bales still sitting outside under tarps, it was time to get them safely inside before they could get wet. We untarped both hay wagons, fired up the Little Giant grain elevator that my dad owns, and began sending the small square bales up into the barn. The elevator made the job much faster, but unloading and stacking two full throwing racks still made for a long day of handling hay. After the hay was safely stored, I took one of the empty throwing racks back to Alex’s farm and showed the large pile of first crop hay inside the hay mow. This farming video includes 4K drone footage, stationary equipment shots, real tractor sounds, and an up-close look at the process of unloading small square bales from hay wagons and storing them inside an old-fashioned barn hay mow.
