ERTMS in DD e LL: Corse prova/Interventi/Applicazione

On April 11 and 12, 2026, railway signaling renovation work was carried out on the Rome-Florence HS DIRETTISSIMA line, which also partially involved the Rome-Florence LL line. From 00:00 on Saturday the 11th to 06:00 on Sunday the 12th, the line was subject to continuous interruption from Orvieto to Settebagni for the activation of the new ERTMS L2 signaling, removing the old system. From 06:00 to 14:00, the line was subjected to several tests with trains and special runs to test the new signaling system, offering little surprises not always seen on the line. Traffic returned to normal without incident around 3:00 PM. In this video (divided into three parts), the first part shows the work and vehicles operating along the DD line. The second part shows some of the vehicles that operated on the LL line during the interruption. The third and final part of the video shows the tests and trial runs for the new ERTMS system on the DD line.
