Mission San Juan Bautista - Still going strong after all these years!

This mission parish was built on the San Andreas fault and devastated by two major earthquakes; one in 1812 (the same year it was finished) and the big one in 1906. Interesting that our own Saint Andrew (San Andreas) parish in Alaska was ravaged by a major earthquake on the feast day of Saint Andrew in 2018. Saint Andrew - Pray for us! Walking on the small portion of the El Camino Real (The King's Highway) that's left intact and, with a little imagination, easily carries you back to the 18th century Catholic Faith lifestyle at this amazing California Mission.
