6 Things I will be doing Differently this Year

Bunny is always looking for ways to improve her garden and hone her techniques. In this video she looks at a new Deer Repellent ‘Trico’ for protecting trees which is based on sheep’s fat and is for use in the domestic and commercial  market(agrigem.co.uk) , and discusses the  way she will deal with box moth next year plus the replacements she is using. New varieties of Persimmon trees  (wonderful small trees with colourful bauble like fruit that stay on bare branches over Christmas) which are more suited to our climate are being planted in her garden later, though her Persimmon Kaki has survived well but is proving very slow although it did fruit last year.   Bunny’s coffee habit produces huge volumes of spent grounds so she is trying mixing these with bark to reduce the pH of her highly alkaline soil so her Witch Hazels thrive and her hydrangeas go blue. Will it help? Many clients are asking for verandas – providing the perfect covered outdoor space. They can hugely improve an unprepossessing elevation too. Bunny shows how you can create one for a reasonable cost. Finally the  type of planting in the new Rose Meadow with informal drifts of home propagated perennials is developing and Bunny will add more Rose meadows into her designs, making sure there is a good percentage of evergreen ground cover to maintain winter interest. #coffeehabit #newyear
