Combining gridded fields and broadcasting
This video concerns combining gridded fields, for tasks such as: Calculating model biases Calculating daily, monthly, and annual model biases Normalizing fields In particular the video discussing the concept of broadcasting in time, which is where CDO duplicates fields in time to ensure they have the same number of time slices to allow manipulation. It is a powerful tool, but care has to be taken to ensure that slices are combined in the correct way. This is where the time-locking functions, such as daySTAT, monSTAT and yearSTAT are also useful. Please enjoy the video, I hope it is useful and don't forget to subscribe if you want to receive notification when new material comes out.
