This Insane Battery Just Ended The Combustion Engine
For this video I flew out to China to visit CATL in person and get the inside story on their new Shenxing III battery - a pack that charges from 0 to 100km of range in just 30 seconds, does a full charge in 6 minutes, and somehow doesn't destroy itself doing it. Most of the industry has been treating fast charging speed and long-term battery health as an unavoidable trade-off. CATL's engineers showed me why that's an engineering problem, not a physics limit - and the materials science behind how they solved it. We go deep on resistance, SEI layer chemistry, graphite intercalation, and a cooling system that works from both ends of the cell. As always, no hand-waving - just the actual engineering. Thanks to CATL for making this visit possible and sponsoring this video.
