After 3 months of growth, they have visibly doubled in height. Moreover, almost every branch is laden with flowers and fruit. The three plants in this area represent two different varieties: the ones on the ends are 'Blue Pagoda,' while the one in the middle is 'Blue Moon.' 'Blue Pagoda' produces oval-shaped fruit that is thickest in the middle, whereas 'Blue Moon' bears elongated fruit; they are very easy to distinguish. Despite the name "Honeyberry," the fruit actually has a rather tart flavor—though this might be because they have only just changed color and aren't fully ripe yet. All 3 plants have produced a bountiful crop; considering this is their first year in the ground, the amount of fruit is impressive. I hope for an even bigger harvest next year. These are also the first fruits in my garden ready for picking, with the harvest season running from mid- to late May.
