2017 Ford F150 6R80 Transmission Fixed with Just a Lead Frame?!

A 2017 Ford F-150 with a 6R80 transmission came in stuck with only 5th, 6th, and reverse gears working. We pulled several transmission codes (P0706, P0707, P0753, P0974, P1702, P1921) and started diagnosing. Inside the pan, we found non-ferrous particles, ferrous filings stuck to the transmission range sensor (inside the lead frame), and even some larger chunks of metal. Normally, this points to a complete transmission replacement. But the customer insisted on only replacing the lead frame (conductor plate).
