WATCH THIS BEFORE REPLACING YOUR TRANSMISSION!!

Many people forget to line up the torque converter with the trans oil pump before reinstalling the transmission. This causes the transmission pump prongs to shear. This also makes it hard to reinstall the transmission since there will be a gap between the bellhousing and the engine. Few other things to do before reinstalling your automatic transmission: Check alignment dowels, replace seals, replace filter and pan gasket, flush out transmission cooler lines, clear out any mounting bolt threads, replace engine and transmission mounts, replace rear main seal, clean out starter dowels/alignment pins, driveshaft center support bearing and flex joint.
