Driving from Mull of Galloway lighthouse to Crammag Head in Dumfries and Galloway.
Leaving the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, we begin our journey north along the narrow coastal road, departing Scotland's southernmost point. As we climb away from the dramatic cliffs, sweeping views across the North Channel gradually give way to open heathland and rolling farmland. The road passes Crammag Head, where the rugged coastline and expansive sea views provide one last reminder of this spectacular corner of southwest Scotland. On clear days, the coastlines of Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Lake District remain visible across the water. Continuing north, the route becomes gentler as it winds through peaceful countryside towards Ardwell. With quiet lanes bordered by fields and dry-stone walls, this tranquil section of the Rhins of Galloway offers a relaxing drive before rejoining the surrounding villages and continuing further north along the peninsula.
