All Bananas, No Hammocks… Getting Water to the Lower Pond

Pinky bought some "special" banana plants stumps off Facebook. We planted them, but after exactly two days of shlepping buckets of water to the lower pond in 100+°F heat, I was over it. I either needed a hammock, or I needed to finish this irrigation line. Since hammocks don't water plants, I started wrestling with that coiled HDPE pipe again. Solo. That was a mistake. This install was a fight. The fittings stripped. The 20mm pipe had a life of its own. The Thai sun was so brutal it actually expanded the 50mm pipe to the point where nothing would connect. But eventually, I got the new sprinkler heads in. They work better than expected—throwing enough water that I might pull up all the old drip tape. The bananas are watered, we even replanted the grass Pinky’s father brought over, and my bucket-carrying days are officially retired.
