Kolkata to Chatakpur | Chatakpur Darjeeling travel vlog | Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary road trip - welcome to Episode 1 of our family travel series to the beautiful, hidden village of Chatakpur in Darjeeling. In this vlog, we begin our journey from Sealdah Railway Station in Kolkata and board the famous Kanchankanya Express for an overnight train journey to Siliguri. From there, we drive towards the peaceful Himalayan village of Chatakpur through the scenic roads of Rohini and the dense forests of Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary. On the way, we stop for breakfast at The Stoppage near Rohini before climbing the steep mountain roads beyond Sonada. The journey becomes even more magical when rain and hail greet us on the way to Chatakpur. Although the clouds hid the majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga, the beauty of Chatakpur still left us mesmerized. After reaching our homestay – Sunrise Homestay – we enjoy a delicious lunch and authentic Darjeeling tea. Later, we hike to the famous Chatakpur Watch Tower for stunning forest views before returning to the homestay for evening tea, chicken pakoras and a warm dinner. This is the beginning of our memorable family holiday in the Darjeeling hills with parents, sister and cousins.
