It happened to all of us. You are drilling a deep hole and SNAP, the drill is broken and stuck in there. Can the part be saved? Despite the conservative peck-drilling approach, the drill broke into the hole leaving Steve with a couple of options (besides cussing): scrapping the part and machining a new one or trying to get the drill out of the hole. As an EDM expert, he opted for the second, hoping that fast-hole EDM would be the ideal solution to solve the issue. Will this method work?
