After five years, I had the opportunity to experience again a Turismo Carretera weekend from the inside. A very special round, not only because of the return of Agustín Canapino while he is in his IndyCar season, but also because this date marked the end of the regular stage and defined the 12 drivers who will go in search of the coveted Gold Cup. With the visit of the TC and TC Pista, the Buenos Aires racetrack finished the resurfacing and upgrading of the track. On Saturday, after two practice sessions with good track conditions, the rain added an extra spice to qualifying. It was there where Marcos Quijada was able to take advantage of the potential of the Uranga Racing Dodge to achieve his first pole position in the Turismo Carretera. Lautaro De La Iglesia did the same in TC Pista with the Di Meglio Motorsport Dodge. On Sunday, Lautaro De La Iglesia reaffirmed his potential in the final of the TC Pista with an unquestionable victory, after relegating Agustín Martínez with his Ford to second place. Third was Nicolas Impiombato with Chevrolet to complete a varied podium with all three brands. The highlight of the day was the TC final. In a thrilling race full of surprises, with several frontrunners and multiple question marks, Valentín Aguirre won with the Dodge that is run by the JP Carrera team. Second was his teammate Santiago Álvarez, and third was Uruguayan Mauricio Lambiris with the Alifraco Sport Ford Falcon. Was this the last time these models were at the Gálvez before the arrival of the new generation with the Camaro, Mustang, Challenger and others?
