After serving in the Patrol Division (now the Community Affairs Division), transferred to the Juvenile Division, where he contributed to solving cases involving organized crime and Child Welfare Act violations. 1980: Entered the Faculty of Law at Chuo University as an MPD-sponsored student. 1988: Promoted and reassigned to the Shinjuku Police Station.
