The police organization protects our daily lives. They may seem familiar, but what are their true feelings and what is their daily life really like? We sat down with Yuji Yoshikawa, a former detective who served with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for approximately 25 years, to find out. 1956: Born in Saitama Prefecture. 1976: Joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). 1977: Assigned to the Setagaya Police Station after graduating from the police academy. After serving in the Patrol Division (now the Community Affairs Division), transferred to the Juvenile Division, where he contributed to solving cases involving organized crime and Child Welfare Act violations. 1980: Entered the Faculty of Law at Chuo University as an MPD-sponsored student. 1988: Promoted and reassigned to the Shinjuku Police Station. Initially worked in the Juvenile Division before transferring to the Public Safety Division (handling firearms and narcotics control). 1994: Transferred to the Ogu Police Station. 1999: Retired from the Ikebukuro Police Station at the rank of Assistant Police Inspector.
