Tour: • Queen I Tour | Opening for 'Mott the Hoople' Date: 20th November 1973 Venue: New Theatre City: Oxford, England, UK Attendance: ca. 1,800 Used recording(s): • Audience recording (B-): AUD ► ? ► CDR (x) ► WAV (GoldWave pitch/speed correction) ► FLAC level 8 • Audience recording (B-): "Supporting Mott The Hoople" silver ► CDR (x) ► WAV ► FLAC level 8 • Audience recording (C+): AUD ► Master tape ► tape (x) ► TDK D-90 ► FLAC level 8 Partially provided by Kurgan This show features something extremely rare, especially for this era of Queen! Along with most of the show, the soundcheck was recorded. It can be found here on my channel. As for the show, it is often regarded as Queen's best performance on their Queen I support tour! Freddie is in typically great shape and makes the most of it and the band is as raw and hungry as usually, turning the odds of them being unknown in their favour and playing a fantastic gig, giving 110% in every number and showing the Oxford crowd what a great band they are, even in these early stages of their career. Despite being compiled of three different sources, the show is not completely available as of now. While most of the performance has been captured, there are still small cuts during 'Procession', 'Hangman' and 'Keep Yourself Alive'. The quality isn't great through all sources (tape hiss, a muffled and metallic sound being the main issues) but I'd still call it quite listenable. 00:00:00 - 01.
