Surface Texture Measurement - Brake Rotor (Michigan Metrology)
3D surface texture measurement shows us a lot about how a surface will function. This video looks at 3D measurement of the surface roughness of brake rotors. These are fairly large machined parts which are difficult to measure under a standard microscope. The NPFlex optical profiler from Bruker, however, has some unique features that make it possible to measure surface roughness on large parts like this. Want to learn more about measuring surface texture? The Surface Roughness, Texture, and Tribology short course is a great way to learn, in person or online. VIsit michmet.com/classes for more!
